What is a recommended sleeping position for a new born baby? Recently I've been getting lots of advice regarding the sleeping position for the baby and im starting to be confused since I'm a first time mom.

The only time a baby should sleep in any other position than flat back is for a medical reason with consent and advised by a doctor.
 Medical example: Our first daughter had to sleep either in a sort of nest made from rolled blankets at an inclined position, in her swing strapped in, in her bouncer strapped in, or in her carseat strapped in because she had a very bad vomiting issue from 3 weeks to 4 1/2 months to the point that she was hospitalized and these sleeping positions were recommended and suggested to us by several medical professionals. She was so bad that the risk of her choking on her vomit in the middle of the night out weighed any safe sleep guidelines. All of those positions were with supervision as well by the way, we hardly got any sleep up until she finally started keeping milk/formula down.
Consult your baby's pediatrician for further confirmation on any sleep questions you have as well.😇

I second looking into AAP recommendations. They have drs and scientists who study babies and most importantly infant death reports. There’s also a great safe sleep group on fb. It’s called Safe Sleep and Baby Care-evidence based support group. They only follow AAP recommendations and are so committed to keeping babies alive as many are loss parents. I’ve learned so much as I’m also about to be a FTM.

Well since my first child I always put them to sleep in their stomach I know most people say it’s dangerous but they never liked sleeping in their backs I also put them in their sides and they slept perfectly fine! You have to be checking on the baby if you put the baby to sleep in their stomach not leave them there for hours! But if u feel safer putting the baby to sleep in their back that’s fine too but my babies were picky since the day they were born so that’s all I can tell you!

However they sleep is what's best. My first I tried to go with all the "back to sleep" recommendations...my newborn would literally flip himself over to his stomach! My girls always rolled to their sides.

On their back is the only way you're supposed to let them sleep. However my daughter slept on her side with receiving blankets rolled up behind her and in front of her legs/belly because she had bad acid reflux and choked on her spit up once.
