Do you feel like young family are unfairly judged by there age?

I am 21 married and have a one year old son and own our own condo. recently I had an appointment with a nurse to confirm that I was pregnant. While there she talked to us like we were dumb and how no clue about pregnancy or being parents. She also implied multiple times that we would not be able to afford 2 kids and insisted that we get on WIC. (I'm not sure if wic is everywhere but its like food stamps for women infant and children) we told her that we didn't need it and at the end of the appointment she still gave us a letter "to take with us to the wic office."

Me and my husband both feel like she very much unfairly judged us just because we are young.

Do you think this is a common thing or just an isolated incident?
