After your water breaks you still have time to shower?

I’ve heard this a few times now... make sure you shower before you go. Why? 
I will be a first time mom. I feel that when my water breaks I will be so panicked I will just want to rush to the hospital!

Bathing is a no, but a quick shower is ok. Avoid soap near the vagina though.

my water broke at 10 pm, my ass went to sleep lol. i waited until contractions picked up. went to the hospital at around 5am

I did! Did my hair and makeup too. I wasn’t having contractions so I figured there was time 🤷‍♀️

Doesn’t always happen in the same order. My mother had 5 children and she always had to have her water broken at the hospital at some point during her labour (never broke beforehand).

I didn’t need to as I had already showered that night but if I did I would of had plenty of time to shower, my water broke at 12 am and she was born at 10am and that was them speeding things up as well.

Yes my doctor told me to shower before I came. They had given me a soap to use to clean my entire body before I went. I was just told to make it quick if my water broke.

Even on my third child I couldn't just calmly take a shower before heading to the hospital. But my water also broke at 2am and labor went very quickly because it was my third ..
