When did you finally realize you wanted a divorce.

After he drug me down the stairs by the hair and pointed a gun at my head...I was gone with my baby and a restraining order in hand within 24 hours.

I wanted a divorce ten years before we actually got one. I just kept saying to myself that I could make it work, we went to counseling too. Sometimes it was good and I lived for those times but most of the time it was bad.

I knew when my ex husband was criticizing me for just being myself (how I talk, how I present myself, my weight, my driving) at our sons 6th birthday party. I walked into our bedroom, broke down and screamed “I fucking HATE you.” And I meant every single syllable. It was then that I knew I was done. He was the one who ended our marriage, but I was 100% ok with it.
