Boss made our friendship awkward

So I’ve been at my job since the beginning of November. I got to work today at 2 pm and almost immediately my boss tells my male coworker and I that we need to keep our work relationship professional because she’s heard from multiple people that we get pretty “friendly.” I’m shocked. I’m engaged, and he’s a senior in high school still. And now, we’ve barely spoken at all since we got our little talking to. I don’t know what to do. I want to keep our friendship and it be the way it was, but apparently that was inappropriate and now it’s awkward.

Edit: a lot of you are saying that it’s affecting the other coworkers jobs because we aren’t getting our work done. We have different job titles/different work. We talk a lot and what not on breaks and when we’re not busy. An example would be at the desk filling out paperwork or something or on our 30 minute breaks.

Small update: when he left today for his game (he plays basketball) he said bye and I wished him luck but that was it
