Could I lose weight by cutting off chocolate/sweets and fizzy drinks along with working out for 30-45 mins a few times a week?

I don’t consider myself fat, however I wouldn’t mind if I lost a few pounds. My diet is pretty balanced I’d say, I don’t eat a lot of fast food, however I have quite a lot of chocolate and fizzy drinks on a daily which can’t do me any good 🙄 I tried to stop in the past a few times however I quickly lost my motivation, but after the new years my boyfriend and I want to try to lose some weight together so that might keep me motivated
