Second baby? When did you know you were ready?

My first baby is 8.5 months old. My husband wants to try for our second when my daughter is a year old. My family is beyond excited for another baby and continues to ask me when we are trying again.
I want my babies to be close in age but I have mixed feelings about getting pregnant again in just a few months. 
My feelings: 
1) I want to enjoy being alone with my first baby as long as possible. I just love her so much.
2) I really wanted to lose more of my pregnancy weight before getting pregnant again. I still have 15 lbs to go but it has been really really really hard to get rid of those 15 lbs. 
3) I really am excited to have another baby. I love my daughter so much and look forward to seeing her be a big sister and watch our family grow bigger and create memories all together.  
How did you know you were ready? How did having a second child change things? How old was your first when you got pregnant again?

My husband and I always planned to get pregnant again when our son was 1. When that time came we checked in and realized we had the same big #1 as you! He was just starting to show so much personality at 1 and we wanted more time with just him. We agreed to revisit the idea until about 8 months later. We decided what would end up being a 2.5 year age gap felt right and so we decided to get pregnant again. ☺️ it’s fine to change plans

I initially thought I would want to try when our son was a year old, but his birthday came and I wasn't feeling it. I wanted more time with my first born. 
When my son turned two we stopped preventing, with the idea when he was 2.5 we would start trying. 
Now our second baby is due a week after our son's 3rd birthday. It's a good age difference for our family

I knew i was ready when I physically felt like I could handle all of that again. Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely terrified but I feel like I have everything planned out nicely. My son will be 29 months when she’s born, give or take. Also don’t feel like you need to rush because 2 year difference isn’t too bad.

I started trying when my baby was 3 months old and I just knew... it just felt right and I like the idea of them being close in age lol I doubt that helped

Took 3.5 years to get pregnant without first so at 6m we started to try for our second and got pregnant at about 18m postpartum. When our second was born our first was 26m. It was a difficult transition for us. We had planned on having our third with a bigger age difference but God had different plans and we got pregnant at 10m pp. due in March so I guess we will see how we do. Hopefully better. Lol (I don’t have much faith in that)
