Safe for sleeping?

Hi, FTM here with a dumb question. My husband and I plan on having baby in our room before we transition to a crib. Is a product like this OKAY for long periods of sleep like a bassinet? 
Someone said something about making sure it’s sleeper rated, how do I do that?

Either part marked in green is safe for overnight sleep (depending which level you put the base at). Just know that the upper level will have a lower weight limit and is also limited to babies who cannot sit up or pull themselves up. You should also remove the change table when baby is sleeping.

The part marked in red is called a “napper”. It is. It a bassinet. According to babytrend “The removable napper with canopy is perfect for a little shuteye throughout the day and the hanging toys keep them entertained while awake.” This part does not meet safe sleep standards and is not recommended for overnight sleep. It is fine for short, supervised naps if you choose.

That's what both my children slept in. Different brand but has the detachable bassinet. Once my son grew out of it he went into the pack and play part. My daughter didn't like the bassinet so she was in the pack and play part by night 3.

We had this same pack n play and loved it! It just has to be a firm, flat surface. We removed everything from the top and just used the elevated mattress on the inside. Baby should obviously never sleep on the changing table portion of it and I personally wasn't a fan of the attached sleeper. I wouldn't use that sleeper for overnight sleep. Just the actual pack n play itself. Our daughter is now 2.5 and we still use the pack n play when we travel!

I loved it.. he will be 6 months the day after Christmas and he sleeps in the pack and play part..

Not a dumb question at all! We've used the pack n play since birth (first with bassinet insert, then just regular) and plan to keep her in it as long as possible! Don't purchase any aftermarket products like mattresses. The mattress may seem thin and firm but that is how it is supposed to be, your baby will be perfectly comfortable, and most importantly safe.
