Is your baby walking yet?

Question

My little one has taken about 5 steps but then would refuse to walk. I get they walk on their own time, but I know she can do it. I’ve seen her walk/run on the bed but will not do it on the floor or if she has shoes on. Suggestions are welcomed as well. Thanks 😊

Don’t put shoes on get grippy socks. I didn’t put shoes on any of mine until they were strong walkers. Is your floor hard? Maybe get a play foam mat they can play on and get more brave trying to walk on

If she’s preoccupied with something, she will walk just fine. The moment her attention shifts, down she goes.

My son was the same so I would get a snack he really likes sat on the floor & held it with my mouth and he would take more and more steps each time trying to grab it, & cheering him on gets him really excited & seemed to motivate him to stay standing, it took about 2 weeks of taking small steps and getting confident, because he would only ever attempt if I was sitting on the floor ready to catch him 
But he’s been walking independently for maybe two weeks now

My little girl isn’t either and it’s stressing me out even though I know it’s okay and she will on her own time! She will walk and run when hold our hands and now we are working on just holding one hand but she fights even that. We give her a ton of praise and try different things but I swear she just wants to be carried or touching one of us at all times!

We started out on the walker, she would push and follow behind. Then we kept trying to make her walk from the couch to me or my husband and we would celebrate every step she took and when sh3 would fall down we would tell her it was okay, our dog also would walk alongside her at her pace and she would grab onto his jacket and with more practice and encouraging her she got the hang of it. And now shes all over the house and runs everywhere.

My friend has a baby same age as all ours and she isn’t walking yet but will walk on the bed and couch. Your daughter is so close to full on walking. I noticed as my daughter started walking she did much better when she was holding something. She just started walking on Black Friday. She’s still figuring it out.
