Forgotten Tampon:TSS?

Question

So I know it's bad to leave a tampon in past 8 hours, but I accidentally left mine in for 13. I don't have any symptoms, but now my flow is nonexistent which makes little sense seeing how my day three flow is usually consistent. What's happening to me?

If you have no symptoms then you should be fine. TSS is harder to get with tampons now, they make them better so there is less risk. I know someone who had TSS years ago and she said it hit her while she had the tampon still in and she felt like she couldn't even get out of bed she was so tired and throwing up. I also know someone who left their tampon in for a week because she completely forgot and the string went inside, she didn't find it until she had sex. She was totally fine.

once I put a new tampon in along with the old one. it was in for like a good 24 hours and I am FINE. no worries girl.

It's actually a misconception that you can get TSS from leaving it in too long. While it's no great that you do that (you're not alone in doing that either), the real risk comes from getting micro tears from the tampon as you're pulling it out, which leads to an infection and TSS sometimes

That's happened to me before and I had it In there for 26 hours 😨 but I was totally fine :) don't worry about it unless you get symptoms ^^
