Are tax returns bigger if you make more $?

Last year I got $6300 back in my tax return (head of household, one daughter who is now 4). This January I got a new job and its doubled my income. Will I get a bigger refund? I also got married, how does that effect my refund? My wife is a student and doesn’t work currently.

Your refund depends a lot on how you fill out your w4 form. That determines how much gets withheld from your paycheck. If you pay more during the year than you need to, then you get a refund. If you dont pay enough, you owe.
