27 weeks starts the Third Trimester?

I keep hearing conflicting answers, so decided to do a poll.  Does the third trimester start at 27 weeks or 28 weeks? I thought it was 28, but now I’m not too sure.

I think technically it’s 26 weeks 5 days. 40 weeks / 3 = 13.3 weeks. 13.3 weeks x 2 = 26.6 weeks. About 26 weeks and 5 days, right? I think the confusion comes because a lot of medical professionals say third trimester starts in “the 28th week” which is actually 27 weeks pregnant. Like 0 weeks is “the 1st week”. But I’m not a health professional, I just like math 🤷‍♀️

Technically it’s 27 weeks and 5 days so it’s in between the two weeks!
