Carbocaine use while pregnant?

Hi I had to have emergency dental work done and he used carbocaine for the local anesthetic and injected me twice bc I wasn’t numb(still wasn’t numb after the second injection😭) and I’m supposed to go back in couple days to do more work. But now I’m reading carbocaine is category C?! While lido w epi is category B? Why would they use the one with more risk associated just bc it has no epi? I’m highly confused and nervous(FTM here). Someone help? Also 20 weeks along

Ask them to use polocaine, it has no epi but doesn't last and can take a while to get you numb. Also it depend on how far along you are as to it being ok. if your in the second trimester it is ok to use epi in dental work, but also since you had to have emergency work done that also can determine what was done. Talk with bit you Dentist and OBGYN about your concerns as well..Good luck

Dentist here: lidocaine is considered the safest for pregnant women. Carbo is okay too, and only category C because less research has been done. You and your baby will be fine.
