No history of disability in my family?

If There’s no history of Down syndrome ,autism and other disabilities like that on either side of mine or the fathers family does that mean my child has a less likely chance of getting them?or does it not work that way?

Having a history certainly ups the chances but there is always the smallest chance of it happening anyway, but it’s a very small chance and nothing I’d really worry about if there’s no history

Down’s syndrome usually has nothing to do with a family history. It’s a sporadic disorder in most cases that is not usually inherited so it makes no difference if there is a family history. Autism isn’t defined at present so it’s unclear what your chances are with no family history (and some older people were just not diagnosed). Other disorders are inherited and it would make a difference but each one has its own risk

Both you and the dad can be carriers of something. So while it's not very likely, there is still a risk that something could be wrong due to the mix of your genes.

Having a family history of those things may make it more likely to have a child with one of those conditions (even Down syndrome can be hereditary in certain cases if you have certain types of chromosomal translocations) but it doesn’t really follow that not having a history makes them less likely. There is a certain baseline risk that everyone has. Certain things like your age increase your risk of some conditions like Down syndrome but most of the time it’s just luck.
