Sex after D&E Help?

I had my D&E on 12/14 I was 11w (baby stopped growing at 8w) I have been bleeding since the procedure. Today is exactly 2 weeks and I still have some dark blood I am bleeding but it has been pretty light. We had sex this morning and we did not use protection. I had my follow up 12/26 and a pregnancy test still came up positive so I still have hcg in my system from my pregnancy. From what I understand if you still have hcg your body is not ovulating, right? I just don't want to get pregnant too soon. I lost alot of blood during my procedure and my dr said to wait 2 cycles before trying TTC again. Help?
