How long?????

How did you choose your engagement/wedding planning length? 
I’m thinking a year and he is thinking more like two. 
We’re not in school or have any obligations to finish before the wedding. 
We both said we’d think more on it and talk tonight but idk what to say other than I’m still pretty set on a year...

I think most people base it on what time of year they want to get married and the availability of venues etc.. not choosing a length of time

Engaged October 2016 & married June 2018! Needed that time to plan and save as we also bought a house (DO NOT RECOMMEND) and we’re both in school. It worked well for us.

Engaged aug married June. That was plenty of time. It all depends on your situation. I wanted a yr engagement but crops out weighs the wedding.

We did it in 9 months, but I would start with the venue. Major markets may have a 2 year waitlist!

I got engaged in January and was not going to have a long engagement because I hate planning things like that. We got married labor day weekend so about 7 to 8 months and that was plenty of time. I even worked 2 jobs and still had time to plan.

We knew each other for 4 years, together for 2 before we got engaged. I chose 2 dates and asked him to pick which one. He chose when we got engaged, I chose when I wanted to get married. I did however decide on a year timeline. I wanted to start buying, saving and booking, with less of an extended timeframe so that I wasn’t holding onto things for “too long” and booking appointments too far in advanced.
