My 19 month old has a really bad cough :(

It seems to get worst during nighttime! We have gotten no sleep in 4 days. He cries and cries and coughs all night long. I just started giving him medicine and its helping some but cough isn't going away.

He has no fever and I haven't seen extreme concern to approach urgent care.

However I an a first time mom so I'm just wondering if anyone can offer some advice?
