Reactive airway disease?

Has anyone dealt with reactive airway disease? In the last 3 months my 21 month old has had 4 different episodes of extreme cold symptoms (coughing, wheezing & rapid breathing). The first 3 times I took her to the doctor they told me she had bronchitis. On this emergency room visit they told me she had Reactive airway disease. I was concerned that she had pneumonia or aspirated something. According to the doctor there’s no way it could be pneumonia because she doesn’t have a fever & the wheezing isn’t just isolated it’s in every lobe of her lungs.

Having a 21 month old wheezing & struggling to breath is scary. Has anyone had a child with reactive airway disease? Did they grow out of it? Did things get worse?
