I need help?

So my son is 19 months old and doesn’t listen !! 😩 He is getting into EVERYTHING ‼️ His dad and I tell him no or stop touching please etc., and he does this new thing where he starts crying and spazzing out. Idk what to do I was thinking maybe time out for 1 minute and then try explaining why. He is VERY smart for his age ! I need help ladies ?

Ahh yes testing boundaries! My daughter does this too and as soon as you try and move them away the tantrums start. Just need to be repetitive and not sure if they will understand time out at this age 🤷🏻‍♀️ I always just try and redirect my daughter to some other activity and ignore her tantrums

My daughter is the same age. They are testing boundaries and learning to be independent. I used to work as a parent educator. Instead of saying “no” try offering him something else. I would reserve saying NO for when he’s actually doing something dangerous or it will eventually just mean nothing to him. Also allow your kiddo to tantrum and feel their feelings. My daughter is very upset when we have to leave the park and I tell her “I see you’re sad that we have to go, it’s okay to be sad”  give them words to describe their feelings.

We’ve got a 23 month old and we miss our sweet little <18 month old baby- it definitely should be named terrible 1s!! If you like academic-y type books we have one called “it’s a boy” by Michael Thompson that makes me feel like it’s all part of the journey 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ignore him when does a tantrum. Don't respond and eventually he'll realize he isn't going to get his way.

Praise him when he is being good. Try to praise more than say no. Don’t give in to tantrums or crying. If you’ve said no, mean it.

Get a stair type gate for your doors so he cant just wander about. I've got one on my livingroom door. I've a big livingroom so all his toys are in there, gets messy but kids got to feel happy. 
Your LO may be bored and needing stimulated or might be needing a nap if he starts stumbling about or having a tantrum. That's when my son starts to get fussy as half the time it's just a nap he needs.

Just keep redirecting and maybe don't have as many things out right now.
