I’m 36+5 and just got the most painful ‘cramping’ in my tummy but it wasn’t like a period cramp it was more like I really needed to go to the toilet (I don’t) its passed now but it really really hurt.. lasted about a minute

My contractions felt like really awful period cramps, although a few times during my pregnancy I had the same kind of discomfort you described and it ended up being gas working its way through!

For me contractions started subtle and grew stronger to like a peak point and then started getting weaker till it went away
