Trigger shot?

I’ve heard a lot about the trigger shot in this page but my RE had never talked to me about it. I have PCOS and he only does Femara so far and monitored cycle with ultrasounds and tests. How much is the cost of the trigger shot? Is it expensive? How does it works?

I have PCOS as well and my doctor prescribed the trigger shot with femera so you know exactly when to time intercourse and don’t have to stress about taking ovulation test and they can be hard to read. You ovulate about 36 hours after the shot. The shot cost me about 56 dollars through mandells without insurance and they covered shipping. We conceived on the first cycle.

You really only need a trigger shot if you’re having good egg development with the letrozole but still not getting positive OPKs. Mine was done at my fertility clinic after my ultrasound to check egg development on CD16 if I didn’t get a positive OPK at home between days 12-16. It cost $120 bc they buy it bulk and I’d get a cheaper price there in clinic.
