When can I take a bath?

It’s been 4 weeks and 6 days and I had an episiotomy and 3rd degree tearing and dissolvable stitches but I’m pretty sure my stitches are healed and I have no pain and haven’t been bleeding for two weeks 
So is it safe for me to take a bath now? I know they say to wait til 6 weeks but I wanna soak and relax ...

After your 6 week appointment. Unless you want to risk an infection. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was told I could take a bath right away as long as it wasn't full of bubble bath.

My doctor said "baths in my own house" were fine right out of the hospital. She just didn't want me to submerge the area in any public places (pool, hot tub, etc)

I’m pretty sure that if people can have water births, why can’t you have a bath after birth lol,

I took a shower first and then sat in a warm bath after.  It did this days after I got home.  If you're worried call your OB and ask. But it should be okay.

My discharge instructions said taking a bath was safe so I did it the day I came home from the hospital and it made everything feel so much better!

I was cleared BY MY DOCTOR at 3 weeks, not everyone has to wait a whole 6 weeks. 🙄 My doctor told me the risk of infection is higher if you are still bleeding so if you’re not bleeding anymore then you are probably fine. Don’t sit in it for a long, long time and don’t use bubble bath/bath bombs and make sure the tub is clean.
