First date night after baby?

Have any of you had your first date night since baby was born? My little girl is two months old and hasn't been out of my vicinity except for about twenty minutes when I left her with MIL to run up to husband's work place and back to get something out of the car. I did fine then but I knew I was close to home and would be right back. I'm really wanting to see a movie with my husband but the theater is an hour away and we would be away at least four hours, but I know MIL and FIL would take good care of her and she does both bottle and breast perfectly fine, so she could just eat from the bottle while I'm gone and I can pump while we're out. What do y'all think? When did you have your first date night after baby?

We've had a date night weekly since the birth of our daughter (our daughter was just over 1 week old when we had our first date night post-baby). I'll never understand why parents put their relationship on the backburner. Our marriage is the foundation of our family. We take that time to ourselves every single week without fail to focus on our marriage and keep it strong. Sometimes it's a full date night where we get dressed up and go out for a fancy dinner or out dancing or whatever it may be. Other times it might be a quick trip to the movies, running errands, or grabbing a quick lunch during nap time. But we take that time every single week no matter what.

3 weeks postpartum went to dinner with hubby for his work christmas party. we also went grocery shopping 1 week postpartum with hubby while my MIL watched baby girl. Its good to get out and get some fresh air and have a little break from mommy mode! especially if you have people able and willing to take care of baby!

What if you try just dinner closer to the house and test things out and work up to the movie. We went out during the day when our baby girl was about a month and a half old. We were only 15 mins away and she was with her grandparents so I was more comfortable.

We did dinner alone nearby after only two weeks, but this is our fourth child soooo we will take the chance anytime we can. Got to have time for us to stay connected.

My daughter stayed overnight at my boyfriend's moms house when she was 2 months old. She did great. I hadn't been away from her for more than 30 minutes before then and I did great too 😅

I feel like an asshole after reading some of these other comments (not really...I’m glad for the time I had with my husband) but we went a couple of hours away just my husband and I when my son was 4 month old. My parents kept him for about 24 hours. They loved it, we had a wonderful time, and he stayed on his schedule and didn’t seem to mind.

We had our first date night at 3 months and I think it was overdue. Our relationship was feeling pretty strained and we definitely needed a few hours together alone. We left our daughter with my parents and went to a musical and dinner. Were gone about 4 hours. It was nice and daughter did perfectly fine with her grandparents. She slept most of the time. We have tried to do a date evening once a month since then. I would highly recommend it if you are feeling up to it 😊

My son was about 1.5 months old we went out to dinner my lo was at my Mils house about 4/5 hours . I was full breastfeeding then so I just pumped enough bottles and left them in the fridge there . And now we probably go out every other week my lo is 6 months old now and no longer breastfeeding . My in-laws are great with him and we trust them . He has started on the occasion to stay the night as she has a cot set up in the spare room and a bed for her to sleep on at night so she’s close by to him

8 weeks. We live 800 miles from all of our family so we left her with a super close friend of ours who spoils her like crazy 😂 we needed time alone and it was hard, but they sent us pictures all night hahah
