Scared mama of a newborn

After everyone’s thoughts and concerns, we ended up taking her to the er. So her lips were actually purple, it was not the lighting or just me seeing crap which makes me feel a tad bit horrible. But our baby Bray has pneumonia, coronavirus, and RSV (which our pediatrician said three days earlier that she didn’t have it ) the owlet was telling us her correct blood oxygen percentage. Thank you owlet and owlet users! We got home last night from the children’s hospital in Vegas who took amazing care of all of us!

She’s on meds and doing well. She’s been eating well and holding it down. A bit of guilt sits with me wondering why I didn’t realize she wasn’t good in the beginning. When her pediatrician said she was fine, I should have argued for her that that’s not how she is, but she’s so new to us, I was think it’s her I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ lesson learned big time!

Thank you all again for your insights and thank you for no disrespectful comments. Y’all helped me learn with this round.

Ugh! The newborn stage is a love hate relationship! My baby girl is 3 weeks old and she has a cold, from what the dr. Said a few days ago. She completely sounds like crap.

Symptoms:

Congestion(and you can hear it in her cough),

cough sounding Congested, runny noise(some is green, some is clearish or milkyish), rapid breathing followed by a very short pause. There’s some calm breathing but that’s some. She mostly seems like a heavy breather.

Most times when she coughs, it looks and sounds like she’s choking. She’s not really eating. She’s on all formula and since 5am she’s had 7.5 ounces. She’s sleeps all day, we have to wake her up to eat, if she wakes up. There’s also been no fever.

Lots of drool/bubbles out the mouth.

And our scariest one is that her color looks a little pale and purple to us. Seems like her face changes just a hint but we don’t know if that’s just us over thinking? Then her hands look a tad purplish. Some of the nail bed looks a little. She was very read when she was born and stayed red for a few days. She was light jaundice, just had her in the sun and she was good.

We have the owlet. We got it all set up yesterday for her. This is an owlet that we bought from someone else. We had it working at her house. We haven’t used it until now.

So we are unsure if we trust it. It says her oxygen has been low a few times yesterday’s the numbers were jumping pretty widely and we were at the dr. Two days ago and her oxygen was 95%. Owlet has been reading 92% to 77% the lowest. Today it’s about the same. Everything’s in a range of 90% and 75%.

Anyone have an owlet out there?

Tomorrow is definitely a dr. Call again, but can anyone help ease me through the night? Hubby’s off to work for the week and I just don’t want anything to happen.
