Anyone else trying the Ferber method? Did you have success? Any other recommendations?

this is called torture, imagine being paralysed and wanting or needing something and no one comes when you cry for 30mins, imagine the effort and heart ache it takes the cry for 30 mins?? just wow is all I can say. It doesn’t work, they regress again at 2+ and will keep waking up etc for years! it’s called being a child, usually stops by the time they go to school.

If the crying is getting worse each day then surely it’s not working? 
I don’t let my daughter cry for more than a few seconds before running upstairs to soothe her. Maybe I’m too soft but I don’t want her to be distressed 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not tried anything yet but really need to start. Looking at this chart though....seems really cruel to me, 30mins of crying?? I didn’t realise the Ferber method let them cry for that long 🙈

I was under the impression that you should never let a baby cry unattended for more than 15 minutes. When I had severe ppd my doctor said I could walk out the room and take breaks for up to but not exceeding fifteen minutes if I was really worked up.  That was my first child and I did do it a couple times. Thirty minutes send like a really really long time. Jmo

Our handout from our 4 month appt said 10-15 is normal and very okay to let our baby cry 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did Ferber, but modified it. So I still followed the rules (lay baby down awake and when you go in just soothe without picking up for a minute and then leave). First night I went in every 5, next night every 8, and by night 3 she put herself to sleep within 20 minutes and didn’t cry the whole time. Now she typically will fall asleep within 5-10 minutes.

I did cry it out with my soon to be 2 year old. But we only let him cry 5 minutes. I it did it because he was 14/15 months still getting up every 3 hours for milk. I didn't Persay have him sleep the night I had him accept his sippy cup filled with water at night for when he was thirsty instead of a bottle. Ill hear him sometimes before I go to bed sipping on his water through out the night.. 
My daughter I may do the same once she's passes 1 year of age. 
Only reason I did for him was mainly cuz I wanted a few months of not waking for a baby before doing it all over again.
