Is the owlet smart sock worth the cost?

My husband is against me buying it. But I feel like as a first time mom I’m going to lose sleep over making sure my son is safe. I am so scared of SIDS. I’ve had an extremely healthy pregnancy and to my knowledge my baby boy is very healthy. Would you say the owlet smart sock is worth it?

To me since I have extreme ppd/ppa it’s absolutely worth it. It allows me to actually sleep. We still follow ALL safe sleep guidelines but it allows me some reassurances

I was dead set on getting one, and after I gave birth which was 4 weeks early, I was unprepared and freaking out cause I didn’t have one yet. My nurse actually talked me out of getting one. She said if it was needed, the doctor would send me home with one and to not worry about anything and it was unnecessary to have one.

My friend has one for her baby who has congenital heart issues. In her case, I believe it’s worth it because she can monitor her baby closer. But for a baby who has no medical issues, I wouldn’t think it’s worth it

It saved my nieces life, so yes, absolutely we are going to get one. She started choking on her own spit or something in the middle of the night and it went off. Our other sister had a problem with it not fitting their premie, but putting premie socks over it fixed that.

We loved having ours. Our son didn’t have medical issues and we always follow safe sleep habits, but it was just an added thing to make us feel more relaxed. We got a refurbished one for $200 rather than the normal $300. It’s certainly not necessary though, so if you don’t have the money, don’t get one.

Our pediatrician didn't like them but said there was no harm in them but that they are just not accurate enough. Our son had heart issues when I was pregnant and I had to be induced early. Honestly if he would have had health problems after birth we would have purchased and used it. Very lucky we have a healthy baby. My SIL used them for their premie twins and she stopped using it after a few weeks because they didn't fit properly and it wasn't accurate. So it really depends in your own peace of mind. They don't hurt  accept for the high price tag. I am glad we didn't buy one.

I really like the Snuza. My baby is almost one and she wears it nightly. I too worry about SIDS so I think any of these devices are worth the cost.

My cousin was in the best NICU’s in the country after his heart stopped / having heart surgery and they advised against them when he was discharged.
