Period sex

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and we have had sex on my period before. But this time when we were done he got me a towel like usual to clean myself off. Like I normally do I handed him the towel so he could do the same. But instead he just looks at me, so I'm like "are you done?" So I could go put it away, and he goes "no it's your mess come clean it off me". I've always felt so bad about having period sex because I dont want to get blood on anything, and he normally is so nice if I get blood on the sheets or something but this made me feel sooooo bad and I dont know what I should do or if I should even feel bad.
