Feeding on both sides??

Question

How long should a four day old be nursing on each side?? The pediatrician says both sides in one feeding but my little one will feed for 15 to 20 minutes on one side each feeding. What have you all been doing?

I never fed my daughter on both boobs during each feeding just fed until she stopped on one, I would offer the other but if she did t want it I would just start on that boob the next time.

The times can be anywhere from 5 minutes -30 minutes. x

my baby only fed off one breast at a time unless he was clusterfeeding. my pediatrician said that was totally fine and we never had issues.

I do 10-15 on one side, offer the other side (usually 8 minutes). Then at the next feeding I start on the side she ate less on. The first boob is the meal and the 2nd boob is dessert.
