Hsg experiences ??

So this month I get my first hsg ? I am sooooo nervous. Can you ladies tell me you experiences please. Does it feel like an iui ?

Fees nothing like an IUI. IUI didn’t feel like anything to me except the speculum which was exactly like a pap. My HSG was awful, but the actual dye going through (the part that hurt) only lasted a few minutes. If it’s painful for you (which for many women it’s not), just keep reminding yourself it is one step closer to a baby. I told myself if I can’t get through this, how do I expect to be able to deliver a baby? If you are nervous I would put your hands under your butt. I did this because my doctor reminded me if I grabbed my stomach, it would ruin the scan and we would have to do another one. My tubes were clear.

I have a super high pain tolerance (I've got tattoos and piercings, had broken limbs and I handled it fine). For some reason with me, even after taking a Norco 10mg (hydrocodone & tylenol) I had so much pain that I became physically sick after. But it the pain only lasted a few moments.

Mine was very painful, it was exactly as a smear and I didn't even feel the tube go in. Slight cramp when she inflated the balloon, the dye was the worst for me. The pain was instant and came over me like a wave, I remember the nurse saying 'only 1 more picture' and telling me to breathe but I couldn't focus on anything else. I ended up having a panic attack and having to chill for 10mins afterwards. What I will say is that although it was very painful for me it literally was only a few seconds. As soon as everything was done and the balloon was released the pain went instantly. Everyone is different, I took 800mg of ibuprofen beforehand but it made no difference. You'll be okay. Luckily my tubes were all fine and no blockages.

It was alittle uncomfortable but the worst part was the speculum. Everyone got me worked up about it and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

I thought it felt like a pap and I went from the facility straight to the airport and got on a plane.  It was uncomfortable like a Brazilian wax (or pap because I find those uncomfy)

VERY uncomfortable but the pain is not unbearable. It’s a very short test as well so it’s over before you know it! Hope your results are good and baby dust to you!

I didn’t really find it painful. I took 2 Advil’s before as instructed to relax my muscles. Everyone’s experience will be different tho. Very painful for some and hardly anything for others. I hear if you have a blocked tube it’s worse.

Doesn’t feel like an IuI, though the setup is the same . The hsg, for me was very uncomfortable but not overly painful
