Last name game

My boyfriend and I recently started talking about getting married one day. I told him if I ever got married I would hyphenate my last name. He hates the idea. Almost to the point that he says he won't marry me unless I take his last name. I decided early on that I would hphenate my last name mostly because my full name flows really well and sounds a bit strange with any other last name. Am I in the wrong for not wanting to take his last name?
