How would i sleep train?

Yes we want too. 
We’re going to do cry it out no checks. 
My son does not have a routine or bedtime because we’ve been traveling for 2months. 
He does not sleep through the night at all 3-4 wake ups. 
Do i just feed him in the dark in his room and lay him down almost asleep and walk out?

We do a whole routine. Bath, lotion massage, PJs, going into her room sound machine, sleep sack, snuggles, bottle in the dark, kiss say good night into bed and leave. It's exactly the same every single night. It works very well. 
As if right now she is in a sleep regression so she's not sleeping well but up until that it was great

Put your baby to run around in walker, or crawl a lot to get them really tired. Start a bed time routine. Play a lot before dinner, have dinner, do a bath, do soothing baby music (I have a rockabye baby station on Pandora), top off with formula or BM, wipe/ brush teeth, put baby in crib and walk out. If baby cries for a few mins go in rock the baby and put back in crib. I never let my kids cry for more than 5 mins, my second is a crier before bed, my first was an angel and you would put him in bed and he would fall asleep. My second sometimes requieres to be rocked to sleep, but he sleeps through the night. Both kids have been sleeping through the night by 4 months with sleep training.

With my little girl we fed her before bed and then put her down awake, said goodnight and walked out, let her cry for 5 mins, go back in (no lights on), lay her back down without looking at her directly, said goodnight, left again, waited 10 mins and repeated, increasing times by 5 mins....
Although it only took 4 nights and the longest she cried was 12 mins so we only went in the once ever because she fell asleep before the end of the 10 mins
In the night I do the same, if she wakes I let her cry for 5 mins, go in lay her back down, say goodnight, wait 10 mins etc
