Would you let your child wear their hair the same as their friend?
I am jewish and I grew up with almost all my childhood friend being black. My best friend would always have beautiful braids in her hair and beads and I remember begging my mom to let me have beads in my hair like her. I loved how she would have a different hair style every week and just loved how creative and fun it was that she could put beads in her hair. I was so sad that I couldnt do my hair like her and I didn't understand why I couldn't because obviously kids don't think about race. Well the subject of that childhood friend came up with my mom (she was telling me about a silly memory she had of us playing) and she said that she regrets not allowing me to do her hair like hers. I hold zero resentment towards her for that but it made me wonder if I would let my child do their hair how they want. I dont know if I would let them or not. I lean towards letting them (maybe doing partial braids and some beads) but still not sure.
Would you let your child do their hair the same as their friends of another race?
