Anyone getting an elective ultrasound to determine gender before 20 week scan?

I can’t decide if we should go ahead and do it or not. We are both so impatient but then are afraid of being told the wrong thing because it’s early. Most ultrasound places advertise a gender determination ultrasound at 14 weeks, but it seems so early to me for them to be able to definitely tell you. What is your plan?

I'm finding out the sex through the NIPT testing I had done at my 12 week appt last Monday. I don't have an anatomy scan until 18 weeks. It's up to you though.

I did SneakPeek at 9 weeks (lab blood draw) and have a follow up/confirmatory US at 14 weeks scheduled later this week.

I have always found out at 16 weeks. And was never told wrong. I going at 16 1/2 weeks this pregnancy. I think they may be able to tell at 14 but to be safe 16 weeks is safer.

I’m planning on going at 16 wks. Our anatomy scan isn’t until 20 wks, but I feel like with this pregnancy I’m having a hard time getting excited. Hoping seeing the baby will help and I’m curious to know the gender. My husband thinks I’m crazy. I told him that he doesn’t have to come 😜 I’m still doing it. 🤣

I have an appointment for a gender scan at UC Baby when I turn 16w as they won’t do it any earlier. I’m too impatient to wait for my 20w scan.

We usually get the elective at like fourteen weeks because my husband can’t really get to my appointments. for both my boys it was very obvious they were boys by that point so, we’ll do it again

We did the gender testing through the chromosome testing. Basically, if the Y chromosome is detecting, you’re having a boy. They reviewed the tests results and then asked if we wanted to know what the gender was.
