When will I stop bleeding?

I recently got my first IUD ( It’s the Kyleena) a few days before I would have started my period. I have been bleeding for 15 days now. I know it’s different for everybody, but does anybody have an idea of how long this will last?

Irregular bleeding is common for the first 3 to 6 months bit can occur at anytime during the use of the iud. I would wait out the 6 months. Its most likely to become lighter in flow. 12% of kyleena users stop getting periods. If you want a better chance of no periods  20% of mirena users stop getting periods. I have mirena and dont have kids. Irregular bleeding includes: heavier bleeding, longer bleeding, spotting, periods closer together or farther apart or no bleeding.

That's interesting that you had inserted before your period. My doctor told me to call for an appointment as soon as my period started. He said that during the period, the opening of the cervix is puckered, which makes it easier for insertion.

Mine lasted 6 months. And it was off and in. Every time I had sex it would start bleeding again. But after about 6 month it stop completely.
