Someone please help me

Ok I’m really confused and need some advice. So I’m 18 and my boyfriend whom ive been dating for a little over a year has been staying over at my house lately but never usually for more than two days at a time (by the way he’s 19 and still living at home). This was fine until his mum told him that she thinks it’s disrespectful for him to be staying at my house so often and that he needs to have a break from seeing me for a little bit. She also said it’s disrespectful that I never stay over at there house and she said that I don’t want to be apart of there family. So naturally when he told me this I was taken aback because I don’t know why she thinks I don’t want to be apart of there family and why she’s even thinking about me being apart of her family when I’m only 18. Plus why she’s so controlling over what her 19 year old son is doing. I just need advice because I don’t know what to do and I also am not sure if I’m in the wrong or not. Also I should add that she expected me to come to her family Christmas and to a family get together in a different city (away from my family) on my birthday.
