Netflix CHEER
Love this show so much. Its the reality of the sport. I did allstar cheer my whole life and couldnt stand it when people compared it to Bring It On or side line cheer. This series really shows the family and support system and athleticism involved in cheer. When we compete yes we are all dolled up with make up and sparkly uniforms and a big bow with our hair done. What people dont see is the hours and hours of dripping in sweat at practice, the injuries, the drive we have to do it for our team mates, and so much more. Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishing something as a team. It takes so much focus and dedication and trust to get a whole team where they want to be. It is a true team sport, not one where you can rely on someone to carry the team. We dont have back up people that can fill a spot the same way you can in another sport. One person being out means there a hole through the whole thing, a stunt doesnt go, half of a pyramid doesnt go and if you can get a replacement that means reworking a whole routine that youve spent months working on to make perfect. I miss being apart of a team and doing what I love.
