Is this wrong of my in laws?

My wife and I live with my in laws. We pay rent and help out... anyway a few months ago, I got a cool mist humidifier to help with my asthma. After 30 mins of it being in my room, I had an asthma attack... so I had to return it... move forward to last night... I was at my moms till late and when I got home they told me about this new humidifier/air purifier they got... they tried it out in MY room. They left it in there for 45 minutes with the door shut!!! I thought that maybe I would be okay but then I had another asthma attack. So I left and stayed at my moms. I texted my mom in law and told her that she needs to at least keep it in her room... and she said no they’re keeping it in the living room.. therefore I can’t stay there. Meanwhile, my wife isn’t doing anything to stick up for me. My wife actually got mad at me because I told her that I lost respect for her parents. She said she doesn’t want to hear me bashing them... but it’s okay that they blatantly use a humidifier knowing what it does to me??? I get it is their home but I feel disrespected and like an inconvenience.
Like am I over reacting about this???

Here is the deal. It’s their home. Sure you pay rent , BUT it’s still their home . If they want to be assholes , they have the right to , in their home. 
After all, it’s their living room. 
If your wife has nothing to say, that’s also didkish of her . But again.. it’s her parents and their home.
The resolution? Get your own place

Not at all it sounds like they do not want you there if they bought that knowing it caused you a asthma attack. You need to have a discussion with your wife maybe it’s time to move somewhere else. Good luck

Is it likely your asthma attacks are just coincidental? Humidifiers usually help unless they are not cleaned properly. It helps mine. It’s all together possible they were trying to help you and perhaps you’re overacting? If you don’t like your current living situation, you can always move out.

Sounds like they don't want you there tbh. Don't give them anymore of your money, ok you live with them etc but if they can't respect your health then fuck them. Move back home and don't give them another thought. Your health comes first and your wife should be more supportive too

I’ve never heard of an air purifier giving someone an asthma attack. Drs usually suggest people with asthma get one bc they you know clean the air.

Uhhh, oh yes, it’s pretty fucked of them to do that to you. I dk that much about asthma but it’s not right how they already knows it triggers asthma in you and still do that, it’s crazy. Sure, it’s their house but it doesn’t mean they can do that anytime that can really puts anyone including you in a serious situation with health. For your wife, she should be supportive of you for sure. As the others said they could done that on purpose, if that’s the case, then move outta there. You shouldn’t be around toxic ass people like that.
