House hunting sucks!

So we are moving back home, husband is in the military but finishing his contract at home and we have been looking at houses for a while and ever house we like either sells before we can look at it or we do an offer and they just don't respond. Or my mil gets in the middle of it and convinces my husband to put in an offer for a house that I don't like. I'm ready to find a place of our own but this is becoming a pain in the ass! Any advice?! There is no good houses anymore in the area we both like and it's like pulling teeth. Also expecting our first child in april. So moving back with a house would be ideal bc we move at the end of next month.
