Husband thinks its "weird" to still be breastfeeding our 9 month old??
Hi all.
My husband has never been super supportive of my choice to breastfeed. While he brags to other people that his baby "has only ever had the boob" behind closed doors he is constantly doubting me, asking if I'm sure formula wouldn't be better, and has never done anything to make my breastfeeding life easier.
Our baby just turned 9 months old. She is crawling and playing with toys and says "mama" and "dada."
Now that she has developed past the helpless wriggling infant stage he suddenly thinks its weird to still be breastfeeding. He is constantly telling me that she is too old for that now. If I breastfeed in front of him he always has to mention how weird it looks to have a baby that big latched on.
It's so frustrating you guys. I know I'm doing what's best for myself and my baby and our situation. I have the goal to make it to 12 months and god damn it I'm going to make it no matter what he has to say.... but his lack of support is seriously discouraging. I just wish he could see what a sacrifice I'm making for our baby and be thankful for it. Ugh.
Thanks for letting me rant. Is anyone else dealing with a less-than-supportive partner?
