I’m currently 15 and I’ve been experiencing irregular period for several months now. I want to try birth control but I’m too scared to talk to anyone from my family since they’ll most likely think that I’m having sex, and would scold me for it. I don’t think I’ll be brave enough to go to a gynecologist by myself either. I know there are some websites I can buy birth control from, but I don’t know what type of birth control am I suitable with, and some only allow those over the age of 18. Is there anything I can do?

I got my birth control from a website called Nurx.com. 
It’s legit and you just have to answer some questions, pay a $15 fee for a year’s consultation and then $45 for three packs of pills. You won’t have to refill for three months.

I don’t know about where you live but here we need a prescription to get birth control. I have never heard of sites that sell it nor would I consider it safe not seeing a doctor first to discuss what might be safe for you since everyone is different. Birth control is yes for people actively having sex but it is also used quite often to regulate your period. I don’t have any suggestions besides talking to your mom and explaining what you were thinking of getting and why and hope she would understand, but I also don’t know your family. I am sorry I couldn’t be more help but felt I needed to voice my opinion.
