My Insurance might not cover IVF
I recently left a job I had for 7 years with pretty good insurance that covered all my diagnostic tests at fertility clinic. My fiance and I own a business so I am working full time from home. I spent 2 months calling every insurance company I could find asking if they cover IVF. I thought I found one Bright Health Advent Health they said $2,000 deductible and 50% covered for specialist which several agents said that included IVF. I get my policy and it says 40% for specialist so right there they lied to me. My doctor doesnt think they will cover anything except consultations. He said it will be roughly $13,000 which we do not have right now. I am heartbroken that we cant start right away like I had planned. We have mild Male factor infertility and he refuses to take supplements. We did 3 IUIs so I dont know if I should do 1 more IUI or wait until summer when business is better to do IVF. I will be at Advanced maternal age in August, doctor explained that if I am 35 at childs birth that is when I am considered advanced because my birthday is in May 2021 i turn 35. I had bloodwork done for my AMH and genetic carrier. Any ideas of how we can start sooner? Doctor said first month I will take birth control, 2nd month retrieval and embryo freezing/genetic testing, 3rd month transfer
