Low Amniotic Fluid .. induction?

I am currently 35 weeks and 4 days. I went in Thursday for a fetal growth ultrasound where I was told that baby was weighing 4lbs and my fluid was quite low (8cm). My midwife informed me that she wanted to monitor baby/fluid with another ultrasound today. When I went in for my ultrasound today the tech told me that they had to send me to the triage dept in the hospital to monitor my baby because my fluid had went down to 5cm and has not grown much. 
Long story short. At the hospital I was administered 3 bags of saline and an injection called “beta” just incase I have to be induced at 36/37 weeks if he’s not measuring like he should... 
Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had an induction for low amniotic fluid but I was 40 weeks 4 days. My boy was 6 pounds at birth. You’re close enough to full term that I would really try not to worry. It sounds like your medical team is watching you closely and is ready to take action if/when needed. As for the induction, it was no more difficult than the labour itself. I had  Cytotec (pill they put near your cervix to help it “ripen”) and the foley bulb (a bulb they put in your cervix and fill with saline to manually open it). I didn’t have Pitocin because the cord was wrapped around his neck and he was in distress but that would have really sped things up. Cytotec and foley bulb were no problem at all. Good luck!
