What do you think? Quite long
My friend has been talking to/seeing this girl since November. Things were going well between them, he’s met her family and everything and they’re all getting along great, had some family dinners together etc. However she keeps saying she doesn’t know what she wants, then she says she likes him but is scared of getting hurt because her ex hurt her bad in the past. My friend is really into her but obviously he’s afraid of getting his hopes up then getting hurt if she makes her mind up. She also said she goes to the US (we’re from the UK) for 4 months for her university course or something like that so she keeps saying that holds her back as well and he just doesn’t know what to do.
Here’s my take from my experience: if you really want to make it work with someone you will no matter what. 4 months isn’t even that long, my dad has worked abroad for over 10 years, used to come home a few times a year and they still made it work. I also say that if she still doesn’t know what she wants 3 months later then that’s just not a good sign whatsoever and if she does make her mind up, my friend would probably end up getting hurt. I get being hurt, we’ve all been hurt but we can’t let that take over our lives and stop it from getting with the person we want just because we’re scared of getting hurt again. Today he told me he’s getting mixed signals and he’s confused, and from my experience mixed signals are never good and if they actually liked you then you wouldn’t be confused. So I believe she’s playing mind games and just wants to string him along until she finds someone. I also think the going to the US for 4 months is just an excuse because she wants to be free and do whatever she wants while she’s there. But that’s just me, I don’t know if I’m being dramatic or too harsh on her but I’m talking from my experience with guys 🤷🏼♀️ but anyway, my friend is thinking of cutting it off and I was wondering what do you ladies think?
