How do you know when your ready?

I’m 18 years old and I have never kissed or been with a guy. How do you know when your ready to try stuff out. I’ve had guys ask me out but I’ve just not been interested? People find it odd I haven’t dated through my teen years but honestly it just didn’t feel right to me. I like the idea of being with someone and becoming close with someone but I’m scared and I don’t know why.

I just waited until I met someone who I was I love with, I also made sure I could trust them and feel safe around them. I waited because all the boys in my school would talk and tell the whole world what happened with them and other girls.
This whole “you will be ready” thing is not always the case, sometimes you are just too nervous and worried about the what if’s. It’s up to you when you want to do it but please make sure you can trust them and feel safe. Make sure they don’t rush you or talk you into anything you are uncomfortable with. Some of my friends are  24 and are still virgins!

I had a guy I was very interested in (close friend-- I didn't tell him) & he died when we were 16. Other than that/after that, I didn't have anyone I was interested in during high school. So I ended up being 19 before I ever kissed a guy or anything. Then it just felt right-- you don't need to overthink it, it'll be something you want & it won't feel like you're having to talk yourself into it (if that makes sense). It's *completely* fine to wait until you meet someone you actually want to kiss! I met my husband at 21 & we've now been married for 10 years, so it's not like when you start dating etc. has anything to do with the big picture.
