Soonest you found the heartbeat?

Please be careful with a Doppler.  We got warned so many times not to use one at home and we’re told It’s really easy to not find the heartbeat or find the wrong thing and panic yourself - especially as early as 8 weeks.
Here in the UK the midwives don’t start using the Doppler at appointments until minimum 16 weeks.
I so get why you want to use one (I was the same!) but please just be careful.  Don’t freak yourself out and make yourself stressed!

My doctor ended up doing another ultrasound at my 10 week appointment because Doppler are so unpredictable even at 10 weeks. The US tech was about to leave and she didn't want me worrying if they couldn't hear a heartbeat. When they did do ultrasound they sound it was unlikely they would have found it with the doppler because it turns out I have an anterior placenta.
