20 day period with skyla iud?

I got my iud on the 25th of November and I knew I'd have irregular bleeding. But this is kind of crazy. I have rarely, if ever have had cramps with my periods in the past and now have been tempted to pull over to the side of the road because they make me lightheaded. I have a decent pain tolerance, so maybe I'm just not used to this kind of pain. But is the bleeding for this long normal for a lower hormone iud? I also took a pregnancy test just incase and it was negative.

I got my Kyleena in Jan. ‘19 and I bled for a month in the beginning. I also had terrible cramps that made me stay seated or double over in pain. I finally bled for 10-15 days a month until maybe May or June last year. It’s been better the last few months.

The less hormones the more likely youll uave irregular bleeding. You have the lowest dose so youre more likely to have longer bleeding and irregular bleeding. Irregular bleeding is common the first 3 to 6 months with hormonal iuds but can occur at anytime during the use of the iud. Ireegular bleeding includes: heavier bleeding, longer bleeding, spotting, periods closer together or farther apart, or no bleeding.

When I had Skyla my periods would last two weeks it was so bad they were painful and heavy. I had it removed after three months. I couldn’t handle it anymore now I’m on the lowest hormone birth control pill and I’ve been fine ever since.
