Should I uninstall the monitoring apps on my 17 year old's phone?

My 17 year old daughter is going to be 18 in May. Should I uninstall the parent monitor apps off her phone now or wait for her 18th birthday to let her do whatever she wants on the internet/social media?

If you trust her then I would take it off. For me a lot of things would come into question. Is she living under my roof, can I trust her, am I paying for her phone, does she have a job, is she responsible. Think about those things and if it makes sense and you believe you have nothing to worry about make your decision.

At 17, you should have a good enough relationship to not need to “monitor” their phone and social media. That’s a bit much.

I think it’s a good thing you installed the app, my mum and I installed one of the apps on my brother and sisters devices and it was great it stopped the worry and it’s a good tool for safety they are younger than your child ranging from 3 years to 16.
your daughter is 17 you could have a talk to her and tell her you will remove it now or you could tell her you will remove it on her 18th it’s up to you ultimately but if it were me I’d take it off now if you feel she can be trusted either way, you will eventually have to remove it and be ok with not checking her phone.
