Rocking chair/glider?

Is a rocking chair/glider a necessity when having a baby? How often did you use yours and was it worth it to purchase one?

I use my rocking chair everyday! It is by far the most used baby item I was given. I rock baby to sleep for naps and bedtime. It was also a lifesaver while breastfeeding in the middle of the night

We didn’t get one with this baby but she was having a hard time falling asleep so I ordered one. We’ve used it before bed and in the night for the last 4 days and it’s helped tremendously.

My son is 2. We used it every day multiple times a day since we brought him home. Even now he sits in the glider to have his books read to him before bed. He’ll be getting an actual reading chair and ottoman in his big boy room because I don’t know how I’d part with glider when the new baby comes. I breastfed but didn’t bedshare so I would take him out of the room (so I wasn’t tempted to fall asleep) and we would go into his nursery to nurse. I also hid in there when we’d get visitors when it was time for him to eat...or I just wanted to avoid my in-laws 🤷‍♀️🙃

I think it’s definitely a must have !! Lifesaver for both baby and I. Didn’t have one in the beginning but once I had it...it was a must

We will be getting a smaller rocking recliner, as I’m trying to breastfeed & I literally cannot get comfortable on the couch or in bed. The baby has latch issues as is and is being referred to a dentist and therapy, I figured at the least, we should both be comfortable when attempting.

I used it all the time but I think it’s definitely a nice to have not a must have. If you have space or cost limitations you could certainly skip it.

We got a glider as a gift with our daughter (she will b 3) and it’s barely been used. I really thought I would need it since I was nursing
