Sooo confused??? Twins?

So I went in for an ultrasound at 5weeks6days to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, which it wasn’t but there was only a gestational sac so the Dr wanted me to come back in 14 days to hopefully see more. I went back in today and this time there was a very visible yolk sac and what looked like another forming to the side it. The ultrasound tech said she wasn’t seeing what she hoped to so I had to meet with the Dr. Once the Dr came in we were not very hopeful, she basically said I was more than likely going to miscarry but since there was growth since last time she couldn’t say 100%. We decided to get labs done and if my hcg level was decreasing then she would know for sure.

Well, 2 hours later the Dr calls me and says that my hcg level not only increased since last time but it increased significantly. (9,000-58,000) She said that at this time she’s cautiously optimistic that this pregnancy could progress. Also, since there were maybe 2 yolk sacs this time that there could possibly be twins and that would also cause the slower growth since they usually grow at a slower pace than a single baby. Now I have to go back for another ultrasound in 2 more weeks to check for any growth. I’m currently 7 weeks6days.

Has anyone had an experience like this?! I don’t even know what to think. Thoughts?
