Would you punish your 14/15 year old for having sex?

I'm just asking because the parents here say they won't ground their 16/17 year old for fucking because "teens will do it anyway" but then say they'll punish their 13-15 year old for the same thing. Doesn't the "they'll do it anyway" thing apply there too? 13-15 year olds are teenagers as well 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn’t, but there is a huge developmental difference between 13 year olds and 17 year olds.

Here's what's gonna happen for my kids and don't @ me either.
Sex at 13? I'm beating that ass.
Sex at 14? Just go straight to your room every damn day and that phone is mine for over a month.
Sex at 15? No seeing your friends, no technology for a few weeks, and your little relationship is over. 
Sex at 16? I need to know their significant other, I need to know that they're mature, and I need to know that they aren't doing it in risky places. Then we will go to the gynecologist and if it's a boy he'll get a long talk about safe sex and how to use condoms.
Sex at 17? See 16.

Never would I punish my kid for having sex unless they had sex with someone against their will and I wouldn’t be punishing them, the criminal justice system would. Is 14 years old too young to have sex? In my opinion yes. I wouldn’t want my kid having sex at that age. I think you should at least be at the age of consent. But I wouldn’t punish them. Punishing someone for having sex will cause so many issues for that person when it comes to them having sex in the future. I would speak to my 14 or 15 year old. Ask them why they think they were old enough to have sex, explain why i think they arent, educate them on all the possibilities having sex can bring, and make sure they are informed on that decision. As well as be sure to let them know they should never feel pressured to do it in case they were, and they could always speak to me about these urges. I’ll be sure to keep a closer eye on them so they dont get into trouble . But punish no.

Conparing 13-15 (under age) to a 16-17 year old is a big difference. Theres a reason the age limit is 16 abd thats because of the maturity levels being inadequate until that age.

You punish them, they are just going to learn to hide it better and then they might come to you less if they need your guidance. I lost my virginity at 14 and wish i had someone to talk to about it because i kind of went off the rails in general.  I'd talk to my child about the reality of having sex and especially so early because I've been there. I'd make sure they weren't stupid about STDs and I'd let them know that while I don't approve,  they can always come to me. At least thats how i think I'd react. Who knows tho, I'd probably be like waaat thaaaaa faaaack.

The only thing punishing will do is make it so that the child doesn’t trust the parent and won’t tell them anything going on in their life. I’ve seen that happen wayyyy too many times (such as my best friend who ended up pregnant at barely 17 when her mom though she had “scared” her away from sex when she was 15).
I’d have a sit down discussion and explain why it’s a better idea to wait, the risks, how to be safe etc.

However, we would have a serious discussion about it if they’re under 14 (14 is the age of consent here) and as in for my daughter, if we haven’t already, we will make a gyn appointment to get her on bc

I wouldn’t want my kid having sex until I know they’re able to deal with a kid. Anything can happen no matter how “protected” they are. In a perfect world and in my culture they would wait until marriage. I doubt that’ll happen though as much as I wish it could.

Punishing a child for having sex too early will show them that they are CHILDREN and shouldn't be risking the chance of MAKING MORE CHILDREN. not to mention sex that young is literally illegal and therefore if parents are allowing it they are guilty of facilitation. Punishing them isn't gonna give them issues with sex it might make them think twice before doing it again. 
The "I would never punish my kids" people, yeah have you watched teen mom? Have you done the research of what having sex TOO EARLY does to a developing brain and body? Parenting isn't about being politically correct it's about raising decent humans that have a good head on their shoulders and dont have to recover from adult mistakes before they have a chance to be an adult
